3 Small Brands To Shop This Christmas
I love seeing the movement towards buying from small businesses - I strongly believe in the - buy less, buy better- philosophy.
I'm also very lucky to live in an area with so many talented people doing incredible things.
Here are three small brands that I adore, that are also local to me. They all make lovely things and I would highly recommend them if you're looking for lovely gifts this Christmas.
Wanderlust Life Jewellery
I have been a fan since the start of this jewellery brand, Georgie and her team in Devon, produce the most beautiful, minimal jewellery. I have bought many of the fine cord necklaces over the years.
She's an inspiration and the brand has gone from strength to strength!
Also, want everythinh in her new collection.
Badger & Birch
I joined some business training recently and Hazel from Badger & Birch was in my group - on zoom while working away at her orders. She told us how she reuses a local restaurants' waste mussel, oyster, crab and lobster shells. The shells are brought back to her studio where she washes, dries and crushes them ready for adding to a piece of work.
I love this creative use of waste! She makes lovely resin pieces, and I can vouch that they are all handmade in her shed.
Sand & Palm
Vicki from Sand & Palm is one clever lady. She set up her swimwear shop and studio around the corner from me in Newquay not all that long ago. I love her aesthetic and her brand ethics.
Her fabrics are hand-dyed and screen-printed in house, in small batches with eco friendly dyes. Because they are individually made, no two print placement is the same, meaning each sand&palm swimsuit is completely unique.
She works with the lovely Evie, a brilliant local photographer, who I also work with, who just captures her pieces so beautifully.
