I'm not sure about you, but July definitely took us by surprise. With August just around the corner, bringing slightly cooler temperatures, plenty more sunshine in the forecast and the school holidays in full swing. It feels like the month to really make the most of this gorgeous summer we're having.
August is full of dates that encourage us to slow down and appreciate the people around us. International Friendship Day on 2nd August is a lovely reminder to check in with old friends, organise that coffee you've been talking about for months or finally get everyone together for a summer BBQ. Sometimes the best plans are simply spending time with the people who make life that bit brighter.
Later in the month, World Humanitarian Day on 19th August recognises the people who dedicate their lives to supporting communities affected by conflict and crises around the world. It's a chance to reflect on the impact that kindness and compassion can have, no matter how big or small.
