Thoughtful Last-Minute Gift Ideas (That Aren’t Just Gift Cards!)

Last minute panic, as life just got too busy - but you still want to give a thoughtful gift? Here is a list of ideas for non-physical gifts that they’ll love receiving. 

1. A class or workshop

Pottery, Life Drawing or cocktail making? Life’s best things are often experiences. Book them in for a fun class that matches their interest - even better, book in to go with them!

2. A Day out Itinerary

Plan a day out together, from very simply a walk that finishes at a great cafe, or a wine tasting tour. The ideas are endless - and extra thoughtful if its something they have been wanting to do.

3. Tickets: to a show, venue or event.

Book them tickets to Kew Gardens , to see Wicked on stage or to watch a film at the Cinema.  How about entry to Tate to visit one of their special exhibitions, a festival ticket, or to watch a sporting event?

4. A subscription - So many great options here;

• A book subscription from Bookishly for example for the readers in your life 
• Magazine Subscription - a gift that lasts all year - choose something they’ll love to read - like The Positive News Magazine, or National Geographic Kids.  (or a digital Magazine subscription with access to lots of different magazines online.
• Coffee Subscription - with a new coffee to try each month - we all know someone who would love this. 

5. A Membership

• National Trust Membership- supporting a good cause, and many outings in nature to enjoy
• Art Fund National Art Pass to enjoy hundreds of museums, galleries and historic houses in the UK. 

5. Meal Delivery

A quick Google search showed plenty of giftable food boxes - a great way to help someone with easy (and healthy) meals in January - this website seemed particularly helpful.

6. A gift of time voucher

Offer babysitting or petsitting, or help with a project they have planned.

7. A gift voucher with a twist

A local restaurant voucher, or an Airbnb Voucher for a getaway in the new year. 

8. A getaway together

This is a big one, but I thought I’d put it in there anyways, as it’ll be a very loved choice - a weekend city trip, of overnight at the seaside. 

I regularly gift some of these options, not just because it's last minute, but intentionally, as I know they will love it.
