Role Overview
We're stoked to be looking for an experienced General Manager to join the team and help scale operations while maintaining the commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.
As GM, you'll play a crucial role in leading and growing the brilliant team and working closely with the Managing Directors to shape the future of the company. You’ll help implement the company’s strategic vision through key projects, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the business. (you like to wear many-a-hat)
You will lead and empower the team across various functions, including warehousing, sales, buying, marketing, and customer service, ensuring all departments work cohesively to drive growth and efficiency. You will take on key business projects and manage them from start to finish.
You will be a key player in shaping the future of the Good Tuesday brand.
Key Responsibilities
Empowered Leadership

- Collaborate with the Directors on strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
Operations & Administration Management
- Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring operations flow smoothly, removing obstacles and enabling the team to perform at their best.
- Implement and refine processes - build SOPs to optimise productivity and reduce waste, following Lean principles.
- Monitor and report on key business metrics, providing insights for data driven decision-making
- Oversee sustainability efforts across the team and other stakeholders, ensuring consistent improvements towards set goals - in line with our BCorp accreditation.
- Handle business admin, working with our accountancy firm, including budgets and financial oversight.
- Support departments to expand their operational capabilities through continuous improvement practices.
- Oversee Community outreach programs
Team Development
- Drive team growth through strategic hiring, training, and development initiatives
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members while establishing clear performance metrics
- Handle recruitment, onboarding, and HR matters in partnership with the directors
- Organise away days, socials, manage the holiday schedule and rota’s.
- Develop team benefits and programmes - help make Good Tuesday a great place to work
- Create and update company policies and keep the Team handbook up-to-date and accurate
Project Management
Drive key business projects, managing them from conception to completion, and involving the right people at the right time.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Manage project resources, including budget, timelines, and personnel.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
- Communicate project progress and status to stakeholders effectively.
- Implement project management methodologies and best practices.

- Proven experience in a similar leadership or general management role, ideally in, eCommerce, lifestyle, publishing or product-focused businesses.
- Strong financial and operational management skills, including budget oversight and KPI tracking.
- Excellent team leadership and development skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate.
- A strong communicator and facilitator who can hold space for difficult conversations and help the team navigate change.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to execute plans effectively.
- Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to sustainability and the values of Good Tuesday.
- Strong digital and software skills
- Knowledge of Lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
Desirable:
- Experience in the stationery, gift, or design-led industries.
- Familiarity with wholesale operations and logistics.

A competitive salary between £38.000 and £45.000 per annum, depending on experience.
