Maximise Your Annual Leave in 2025

Maximise Your Annual Leave in 2025

Oh that feeling when you’ve got a brand new calendar, ready to fill with excitement. Twelve expansive blank pages for dreaming up trips, projects, and planning your time off in 2025.

Here's EXACTLY how to get 61 days off work by taking 28 days of annual leave in 2025.

With a bit of creative scheduling (yes, there’s such a thing) you can take advantage of bank holidays to give yourself some lovely big chunks of time off work.

Good Tuesday was started on a quest to take a step back, prioritise friendships, and honour them. Celebrate more. Dance more. Because no matter how much you love your work, having adequate time to rest and play can make you a happier, more productive (and fun) person to be around. And anyway, what’s the point in working hard if you can’t take time to enjoy life with family and friends too right?

So, would you like to know how to double your holiday allowance for adventuring or relaxing next year using your standard annual leave?

Here are the days you need to take off to maximise your annual leave in 2025:

January: New Years Day

Kickstart the year with a refreshing break! By booking just two days, you can enjoy five days off at the start of 2025.

Book off:

Thursday 2nd January
Friday 3rd January

April: Easter Break

Get ten whole days to sample all the available types of mini eggs by using only four days of your holiday allowance. Or use eight days of your holiday allowance for sixteen days off.

Book off:

Monday 14th April
Tuesday 15th April
Wednesday 16th April
Thursday 17th April

and/or

Tuesday 22nd April
Wednesday 23rd April
Thursday 24th April
Friday 25th April

May: May Bank Holidays

As the summer sun starts to return, so do the bank holiday weekends. This gives you not one, but two chances to have a nine-day break from video calls to wander unfamiliar cities, climb a mountain or test out your new beach towel.

Book off:

Tuesday 6th May
Wednesday 7th May
Thursday 8th May
Friday 9th May

and/or

Tuesday 27th May
Wednesday 28th May
Thursday 29th May
Friday 30th May

August: Late Summer Bank Holiday

Towards the end of summer, there’s another chance of a nine-day holiday using four days of annual leave. Start working on your out-of-office message now.

Book off:

Tuesday 26th August
Wednesday 27th August
Thursday 28th August
Friday 29th August

December: Christmas and New Year Break

To fully embrace the festive season, book off six days and enjoy a thirteen-day break from Saturday 20th December, until Thursday 1st January. That’s enough time to love the return of mince pies and mulled wine to not wanting to see, taste or smell them ever again (until next year, of course).

Top tip: if you also book off Friday 2nd January 2026, using some of your 2026 leave, you can bump this up to 16 consecutive days.

Book off:

Monday 22nd December
Tuesday 23rd December
Wednesday 24th December

Monday 29th December
Tuesday 30th December
Wednesday 31st December

Friday 2nd January 2026 (EXTRA)
