Three Festivals to book instead, if you missed out on Glastonbury tickets
Plan in some fun!
Part of a good life is taking the time for some let-your-hair-down fun—and for some of us, that comes in the form of festivals—a few days away from everyday life, fully immersed in the business of having fun.
If, like me, you missed out on Glastonbury tickets (again), and don’t have the patience for the resale in May - here are some alternative options:
We Out Here Festival
August 14-17 2025,
This one is high on my wishlist - with a diverse music line up - curated by Giles Peterson. It’s family friendly and the setting is stunning.
What they say: “We’re a 4-day award-winning festival that celebrates world-class music, alongside wellness, family and cultural activities, with the help of an outstanding musical community.
Curated by BBC Radio 6’s Gilles Peterson, we platform genre pioneers alongside the best in emerging talent across the realms of soul, hip hop, house, afro, electronica, jazz and everything in between….
Our next edition takes place next August 14th-17th 2025, in the beautiful grounds of Wimborne St Giles, Dorset.”

Houghton
August 7 - 10 2025
Leave the kids at home, cause this is an 18+ only festival. With a 24 hour music license, this festival is for those who take fun seriously.
What they say: “Set amongst the sycamore trees, a lake, deer and one of the world’s great sculpture parks, Houghton Festival is a hedonistic playground, celebrating live and electronic music across four days on the charming and beautiful grounds of Houghton Hall. Founded, directed and curated by artist, DJ and Central St Martins alumni Craig Richards, the festival reflects his vision of how a festival should be, with attention to detail and high standards throughout.”

Rock Oyster Festival
24-27 July 2025
Local to us, we decided to take the family last minute to the Rock Oyster Festival - and it did not disappoint. It’s small, chill and not crazy busy. Camping is close to the site and plenty to do for kids and adult, but pretty small scale.
It’s based at Dinham House Estate in Cornwall, overlooking the Camel Estuary.
What they say: “A voyage of culinary discovery and musical mischief”
